“Further to our unfortunate situation yesterday resulting in the grounding of our helicopters, we have been advised by the authorities that we will continue to be unable to operate our service today whilst there is a danger of volcanic ash in the air.
The safety of our crews and pilots flying on the helicopters is paramount and something the YAA takes very seriously.
Our paramedics will continue to be operational, responding to emergencies in Rapid Response Vehicles on the road, and we are working closely with our colleagues at Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
We will be consulting with the relevant authorities throughout the day to keep up to date with any changes to the circumstances.”
