NFU Mutual in Selby are running a campaign until 31 December 2009 to raise vital funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA). The company, which are based at Finkle Street in Selby will be encouraging their customers to ‘Recommend a Friend’ and in return, they’ll donate £20 to the charity each time.
"We are asking all NFU Mutual’s Selby office customers to ask their friends, family and colleagues to contact us for a quotation for their Business, Household or Vehicle insurance.” commented Tracy Ross. “If the recommended person takes out a policy (except travel insurance) before 31 December 2009 we will make a £20 donation to Yorkshire Air Ambulance on their behalf. As the Selby Office of NFU Mutual has thousands of customers we hope to be able to make a substantial donation to the charity. All we ask is for is each customer to recommend two people”.
When Philip, Martin, Tim and Tracy from NFU Mutual in Selby visited the YAA base in Leeds, the crew had just returned from a serious road traffic accident on the M62 which both helicopters had attended.
“Just after we arrived at the Leeds Air Support Unit, the helicopter landed after attending
a serious road traffic accident – this just confirmed to us why we had chosen to support the YAA. Many of our customers are motorists and farmers, all of whom may need the YAA one day. We were made extremely welcome by the staff and the crew even had time to come and say hello after carrying out their post-mission duties” added Tracy.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance are an independent charity who provide a life saving rapid response emergency service across the whole of Yorkshire. With state of the art medical assistance, they can have a major impact on a patient’s chance of survival and subsequent quality of life after an accident. The charity currently have two helicopters and need to raise £7200 per day or £2.6 million each year to ensure that they can keep their helicopters in the air.
